NFF waiting for report
By Håvard Lindheim, 30 March 2004, 13:57

The Norwegian Football Association (NFF) has still not received the referee's report for Sunday pre-season friendly between Rosenborg and Hammarby. In other words, it is still not clear what will happen to Vidar Riseth.

The Norwegian Football Association (NFF) has still not received the referee's report for Sunday pre-season friendly between Rosenborg and Hammarby. In other words, it is still not clear what will happen to Vidar Riseth.

"We have to date not received any report," NFF's Director of Sports Subjects Thor Grønnerud confirms to rbkweb.com.

What also is unclear is weither referee Leif Sundell mentioned Riseth's red card in his report or not. The ref more or less opted to withdraw the red card, by allowing RBK to let Torjus Hansén enter the game instead of Riseth.

If Sundell did put the red card into his report, the NFF will have to consider this case and judge weither some kind of punishment is in order.

If the Riseth incident gets judged as a "normal" red card with one match suspention, the red card will not get any other consequences. Such suspensions are, according to NFF rules, ignored, and no suspention from either friendly nor normal match will happen.

On the other hand, if NFF thinks the red card deserves a two match suspention (which is very unlikely!), Vidar Riseth will have to watch both the final test against Viking on Sunday and the opening match of the league (against Brann, Apr 13th) as a spectator.
