No punishment for Riseth
By Håvard Lindheim, 1 April 2004, 09:56

Vidar Riseth will not have to suffer any punishment after the red card in Sunday's friendly against Hammarby. The red card was not even reported.

The Rosenborg defender was sent off after he and Pablo Piñones-Arce ran into eachother, an incident that resulted in the Swede fell over. Referee Leif Sundell showed Riseth the red card for the tackle.

These last days have seen discussions about wether Vidar Riseth would have to suffer a suspension or not. The rules of the NFF states that red cards in friendlies may lead to suspensions in the league.

But the rules are not the same in Sweden.

"Swedish referees does not report red cards if they weren't very grave. Hence, we do not 'report' Vidar Riseth since he just got a 'free kick red card'," Elisabeth Aldaeus in the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) says to rbkweb.com.
