While Football-Norway has been irritated about RBKs so-called looting of profiles from their Tippeliga contestants, Rosenborg in secrecy has negotiated a deal on Mikael Dorsin.
"We need a new left footed player on the team. Dorsin is young, but at the same time good enough to enter the team directly," RBK Sports Director Rune Bratseth says to Norwegian broadcaster NRKs Sports division.
According to Norwegian daily VG, the transfer sum is EUR 830.000. Bratseth however claims that he is much cheaper.
Sold to Strasbourg rbkweb.com earlier wrote that the U21- and Olympic team player has been lent out to French Strasbourg since last summer. The facts are more complicated. Djurgården did in fact sell Mikael Dorsin to the French for EUR 850.000, and the player signed a three-year contract.
But due to Strasbourg's financial problems, the Stockholm club had a clausule in the contract papers: If all the millions were not payed within a year, Djurgården can take the player back. And that is what has happened. The French top league club used Dorsin in 16 league and 3 cup games during the season, but chose to use the clausule for his own gain and let the Swede return home when the season ended.
Strong EC effort Now, however, Mikael Dorsin is on his way to Trondheim. It is expected that he signs his personal contract when the U21 EC is done coming Tuesday. Rosenborg has had Bjørn Hansen in place in Mannheim to review Dorsin's qualities.
Sweden and Dorsin does a great job in the EC, and they are ready for a semi finals after having beaten strong Portugal 3-1 and host Germany 2-1 in the group play. If they manage a place among the top 3, they automatically qualify for the Olympics in August. In that case, Rosenborg will have to do without Dorsin some weeks.
PS! Rosenborg seems to have taken interest in the Swedish league Allsvenskan. In addition to Dedé Anderson (Brasilian forward, 24 years, Kalmar FF), also Paulinho Guára (Brasilian forward, 24 years, Örgryte), Mikael Antonsson (middle defender, 23 years, IFK Göreborg) and Babis Stefanidis (right wing, 23 years, Djurgården) are in Rune Bratseth's search lights, Norwegian daily VG reports.
