Perry leads Sweden trade
By Håvard Lindheim, 7 June 2004, 13:51

Per Joar Hansen talked the Sports Direction at The Hut (Rosenborg's HQ) into believing that Mikael Dorsin is a good bargain. The assistant coach confirms that Rosenborg views Sweden as an interesting player market.

After two years as coach for Swedish GIF Sundsvall, "Perry" well knows who's who and who's interesting in Swedish football.

"The Swedish league Allsvenskan is at least on par with out Tippeliga," Hansen claims to local daily Trønder-Avisa.

Last year, it was speculated that the earlier Helsingborg coach (and then-RBK-coach) Åge Hareide was interested in several players from the Allsvenskan. John Inge Høiland (Malmö FF), Christoffer Andersson (then Helsingborg, now Lillestrøm) and Adreas Andersson (AIK) were the confirmed names. But noone were bought then.

Now, however, RBK has decided to buy Mikael Dorsin, and the club is linked to several other names:

Dedé Anderson (Brasilian forward, 24 years, Kalmar FF)
Paulinho Guára (Brasilian forward, 24 years, Örgryte)
Mikael Antonsson (middle defender, 23 years, IFK Göteborg)
Babis Stefanidis (right wingman, 23 years, Djurgården)

Per Joar Hansen confirms no names, but he thinks that shopping director Rune Bratseth is doing it right when he sees eastwards.

"Why pay expensively for a Norwegian player when we get an equally good player EUR 250.000 cheaper in Sweden?" Perry asks.

The reason for Rosenborg's dawning Sweden trade is the huge price tags that Norwegian clubs put on their profiles. Viking demands EUR 2.4 million for their captain Brede Hangeland, while rumours has it that Tromsø wants EUR 3-3.5 million for export candidate Morten Gamst Pedersen.

"My personal opinion is that other clubs try to take advantage of the situation. If RBK show interest, the price goes up, and that is just wrong. We have to think economy too. We cannot pay extra for a player just because he plays in a Norwegian club," Per Joar Hansen ascertains.
