The usual vacation to Germany
By Håvard Lindheim, 7 June 2004, 13:51

After Rune Bratseth, with his contacts in Germany, took over as Sports Director in 1994, Rosenborg has often travelled south to play friendlies against German teams during the summer. This year's contestant will be Mainz.

During the past years, RBK has played larger and smaller clubs like Werder Bremen, Energie Cottbus and Bochum. Rosenborg has not always put their soul into these matches, but the German teams, in front of a new season, has appreciated meeting an established Champions League team from Trondheim. Still, RBK has gotten a taste of international challenge prior to the Champions League qualifications.

This year will find the new Bundesliga team 1. FSV Mainz 05 as opponent, the gaming paper Tips reports. The match is to be played at July 21st in Germany, most likely at Mainz' home team, Stadion am Bruchweg.
