Rosenborg - Ham-Kam 5-0
By Håvard Lindheim, 7 June 2004, 13:52

No pills could have helped Ham-Kam at Lerkendal tonight. Rosenborg dominated too much.

[Ham-Kam forward Sveinung Fjeldstad is suspended due to a positive drug test. Long story.]

FINALLY: Azar Karadas and Vidar Riseth cheers after Azar's 1-0 goal. "Finally we have more goals than yellow cards at home," Ola By ascertained.

"It is the D-day today, and I used suitable expressions before the game. We wanted to go and fight a blitz war, and we succeeded," a happy, pleased Ola By Rise said in the wardrobe after the match.

"Earlier this year we have often rolled forward until we were 25 metres away from the opponents' goal, and made a besiegement. Today, we attacked all the way," the RBK boss ascertained.

Prior to the match, By Rise had left out two thirds of the attacking line; Harald Brattbakk and Øyvind Storflor. Azar Karadas and Dagfinn Enerly were in. Karadas really thanked for the confidence placed in him, but the injury-ridden Enerly only played for 15 minutes before he had to leave the pitch with a knee injury and got replaced by Brattbakk. On another note, Roar Strand was back from the start, and substituted an injured Ørjan Berg.

The guests however had the stronger start. During some seconds in the 12th and 13th minute, Ham-Kam had two dangerous tries. First, Petter Vaagan Moen hit the post spot on from 25 metres. The rebound ended up at Geir Frigård, but the experienced goalgetter did not use that golden opportunity. Soon after, the crew from Hamar attacked again. Espen Olsen chipped the ball past his brother-in-name Johnsen in the RBK goal, but the ball rolled outside.

"One minute's haemorrhage from our side," 3rd coach Rune Skarsfjord made clear during the pause.

Thankfully, Rosenborg awoke, and they lead the rest of the match. Two dangerous shots from Ståle Stensaas and Frode Johnsen crept past the goalposts, and signalled that something was going on. Substitute Brattbakk had a precise corner kick that Azar Karadas headed firmly into the net. Azar appreciated his first home-ground goal for the season, and celebrated wildly with the supporters in Kjernen (The Core).

Few minutes later the home crowd saw 2-0. Vidar Riseth scored twice against Sogndal, and continued where he left at Sunday when he placed a Winsnes crosser in the goal with a nice volley shot.

After this, Frode Johnsen rounded Ham-Kam goalkeeper Svein Inge Haagenrud, and made a shot from an extremely flat angle. The ball however just rolled along the line and never found its way between the posts.

Second half saw an eager Azar Karadas, who was back among the starting 11 after having spent four matches on the bench. Frode Johnsen headed a long ball down into his forward colleague's feet, and Karadas finted Axel Smeets away before smashing the ball into the net.

Ten minutes later saw another "comeback kid", Roar Strand. Yet again, Johnsen had the assist. This time he sent the ball up to Strand's chest, who came running through in his usual manner. Strand did no mistake alone with keeper Haagenrud, and delivered 4-0,

And at last, also the butler Frode was to get his strike, when he headed a Brattbakk corner home. 5-0 was the final result.

Three of five goals tonigh came at setpiece situations. Totally 11 of 18 goals have been scored this way so far this year.

"We are beasts at setpieces today. All the time we have had a phenomenal air force, and now we have worked hard with the crossballs as well," Ola By Rise tells.

After Sunday's matches, RBK crept up to a third at the table, with better goal difference than Vålerenga, Brann and Ham-Kam, who all have 16 points.

PS! Tromsø lost 0-1 at Brann stadium. RBK can then get even (with one game more played) if they win the rescheduled Bodø/Glimt match coming Wednesday.
