The 1-3 goal by Harald Martin Brattbakk against Brann was the goalgetter's 159th top league goal. He then came on par with Petter Belsvik's record.
"This was really fun!" a well pleased Brattbakk gleamed to Norwegian Internet daily Nettavisen after the game.
The 33-year old will celebrate with a holiday abroad:
"I must catch my cab, we'll be tackling eachother, guys!" he greeted his team mates, who replied with the Happy Birthday song to the topscorer that now can claim the title as All Time Topscorer in Norway.
While Petter Belsvik needed 292 matches and seven clubs (Molde, Ham-Kam, Start, Stabæk, Rosenborg, Vålerenga and Lillestrøm) to do 159 goals, Harald Brattbakk settled with 225 matches and two clubs; 10 goals in 22 matches when he was on loan to Bodø/Glimt in 1993.
Ola By Rise was however not very interested in discussing the record:
"If I hear another word of this record now, then I'll... To put it this way, the record is of no interest to us," Ola By said to Norwegian Internet daily VG Nett.
