The newcommer from Skeid has scored four goals in three matches, and has had a great start as an RBK player.
"The start in Rosenborg has been better than expected. I play with the best now, and then one gets better. It was fun to score again, and it is good for the team. It is wonderful to be able to contribute," Daniel Braaten smiled to local Trondheim newspaper Adresseavisa after the match.
Molde, on their hand, hunted their first RBK scalp at the Røkkeløkka stadium, and the first minutes of the match thei had a certain grip on the guests - that missed Ørjan Berg, Christer Basma (both out due to yellow cards) and Mikael Dorsin (injured). But fifteen minutes into the game, Daniel Braaten showed himself. The RBK comet showed phenomenal speed, snatched a long pass from Ståle Stensaas in duel with two Molde defenders, before rounding keeper Eddie Gustafsson and put the ball into a free goal. Great!
Alas, the team from Romsdalen valley struck back fast. Merely five minutes after RBK's leading goal, Tommy Eide Møster headed firmly into the net after having won a head duel with Robbie Russell.
The following hour saw few chances. A Molde threatened by relegation and in desperate need of points fought well, and RBK did not manage to get a good grip on the hosts.
After 84 minutes, RBK finally managed to put another goal. Fredrik Winsnes passed a free kick from the right, and Vidar Riseth headed it it from short range.
Then it was Espen Johnsen's turn to show his skills. Molde hunted an equalizer, and the RBK keeper impressed with a fantastic save when Rob Friend dive-headed from three meters.
In overtime, Braaten set the end result. Substitute Øyvind Storflor played his wing mate through; he outran ex-RBK Martin Høyem and ended alone with keeper Gustafsson. Without nerve Braaten almost stopped completely before rolling the ball between the Swede's feet.
"I guess I have delivered a good appliance to get more chances from start, but others must decide this," the man of the day ascertained to Norwegian daily Dagbladet.
