Past winter, RBK spoke of plans to mimic other European clubs, and build a removable roof above the stadium to prolong the season. This will give better conditions for, among other things, both the Royal Leage and the Champions League.
Last Friday, these plans were more solid, as sketches were presented.
"It is a complicated project, and in many ways demanding. Firstly, it is not an easy technical solution to establish a construction that gives roof above our heads. Secondly, it must fit in with the stadium and its surroundings," RBK Managing Director Nils Skutle says to the club's home pages.
The price tag will be around €5.93 and €11.86 million. Sketches shown are made by Selberg Architect Office/Reinertsen. The roof will be skewable, so that it can be opened and closed as needed. This whole construction is held up by four towers in the stadium corners, and heavy wiring.
As shown by the sketches, the stadium corners are not filled in, apparently because one fears over-capacity. Should one third of the seats be unfilled, it would look sad, is the idea.
