George and Hansén finished at RBK

Rosenborg has told Christer George and Torjus Hansén they will have to find themselves new employers, if they are to continue playing top league football in the coming season.
Rumours have been circulating the last few weeks and on Monday it was confirmed:
“We have informed Torjus and Christer that we will no longer be focusing our efforts on them. Now they know where they stand. They are a long way away from the first squad,” says Sports Director Rune Bratseth to Norwegian national daily Dagbladet.
This means RBK is now driving a hard line with the old postulate by Nils Arne Eggen; that a player will have to find new pastures if he has not managed to establish himself on the squad within two years in the club.
Torjus Hansén cost Rosenborg 1.5 million Norwegian kroner when he was bought from the German Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld during the summer of last year. Christer George cost RBK 11 million kroner in total, after the transfer from Strømsgodset in late 2000.
RBK wants to cover at least some of these expenses from the sales, even though the players are unwanted at Lerkendal:
“Of course, we’ll want some money for them,” says Bratseth to Norwegian national daily VG.
There are several interested parties on the market: Start and Odd both want Hansén, while Swedish side GIF Sundsvall, Vålerenga, Lillestrøm, Lyn and Aalesund are all linked with ‘Georgie’. However, none of the clubs have yet contacted Rosenborg with concrete proposals.
