After being released by his French club Bastia earlier in January, Bjørn Tore Kvarme the last weeks has been considering contract offers from both Rosenborg and FC Lyn Oslo. On Friday the 32-year-old finally chose RBK.
Rosenborg coach Per Joar Hansen is very pleased with Kvarme's decision.
"Bjørn Tore is born in Trondheim and has played for the club before. He's familar with the "working environment" in Rosenborg and knows what to expect. We get a very motivated player who wants to win trophies with Rosenborg again," Hansen says to Norwegian daily newspaper VG.
In his first period of Rosenborg "Beto" played at the right back. During his years abroad he has been "reeducated" into a central defender, and RBK are expected to use him in this position.
"He's very strong in duels and good one-to-one defensive," coach "Perry" states.
Rosenborg are accused of gambling on too old players in the defence. This Per Joar Hansen disagrees on.
"The debate on age is nonsense! In Rosenborg we don't focus on the age of the players, it's just people outside the club who does that. Kvarme has still many good years on the pitch ahead of him, and that's what matters," Hansen makes clear.
