Rosenborg - Bodø/Glimt 3-1
By Håvard Lindheim, 1 April 2005, 09:03

The start of the league is getting close at hand, and against the Easter yellow northlanders, RBK this afternoon proved that the shape is getting better.

CHEERS: Frode Johnsen makes the equalising 1-1 goal and is here congratulated by Miika Koppinen.

Espen Johnsen, Christer Basma, Vidar Riseth, Ståle Stensaas, Jan Gunnar Solli and Daniel Braaten all were in Munich, preparing for Wednesday's international match against Moldova. Still, RBK managed to send forth a powerful team when Bodø/Glimt came visiting on 28 March.

Rosenborg were in complete control throughout the game, but one miss occured: Glimt snatched a goal kick from Ivar Rønningen; Håvard Sakariassen outran Miika Koppinen and put the ball behind the RBK goalkeeper.

Frode Johnsen and Roar Strand both hit the crossbar in the first half, but Glimt's 0-1 lead held to the break.

After the rest, RBK continued its forward pressure, and after an hour things started happening - with three fast goals. First, Frode Johnsen was at it, heading in a corner kick from Fredrik Winsnes.

And shortly thereafter, the duo was back. This time, Johnsen was pulled down inside the box, and Winsnes placed the penalty safely into the net. In time, too, after six failed penalties in a row: Over a year ago, Dagfinn Enerly put in the 5-0 goal in the friendly against Djurgården. Since then, Brattbakk x3, Johnsen x2 and Ødegaard all have failed.

A little while later, it was Roar Strand that fixed the final result. The running midfielder got the ball at 16 metres, took it down and hammered it in. The low ball hit the net, and a cheering Strand ran straight off the pitch to be replaced by Per Ciljan Skjelbred.

RBK continued to create chances after the 3-1 goal as well, but without results. In spite of the terrible waste of good chances, this was a test well done by Rosenborg.

"It is nice to see the team machine ticking throughout the game. We don't get stressed by the early goal against, even tough we should have had a better result at half time. In the second half we turn the game, and all in all we're some classes above Glimt," Rune Skarsfjord told rosenborg.info after the game.

What next?

On Sunday, the final test against Viking; then the first match in the league, against Aalesund, in two weeks.
