Per Joar "Perry" Hansen resigns
By Håvard Lindheim, 8 August 2005, 12:12

Five losses in seven matches was too much for Per Joar Hansen, who chose to resign as a Rosenborg coach after the 1-2 loss against Lillestrøm Sunday evening.

"As the one responsible for the sports results I must take the responsibility, and I have done that now," Perry said during the improvised press conference last night.

The northlander has stood strong and tall throughout this year's storm, but last night he had had enough.

"I took the desicion in the dressing room after the game. In sports, one can find oneself at a point where no more can be gained. The players need something new now. They have been extremely loyal, and have backed me all the way. Now I think they will gain from change, so they can show what potential they really have," Hansen continues.

Perry denies that he was left with a choice of resigning or getting fired.

"My choice is not linked to other things going on in th eclub. I have not been involved in the other processes," Per Joar Hansen finishes, before he chooses to take the back door out of the dressing room.

The future of the remaining persons in the coaching team is still uncertain. It will be up to the new head coach Høgmo to decide who he wants to work with.
