Siri Marte Hollekim, with a background from the national Judo team, is the lady that will ensure the best possible fitness for the Rosenborg players in the years to come.
The 30-year old from Verdal in Trøndelag was one of more than 50 that applied for the job as physical trainer/physiotherapist. Friday, she was employed in RBK, and starts working January 1st.
"To start with, the work will be about getting to know the players. We need to know what kind of persons they are, and what possibilities they have as individuals. Next, each player's capacity and talents will create the base for the further work, Hollekim tells Rosenborg's web page rbk.no.
Earlier she has had the same role in the women's football club Røa, and at the football study at Norway's Top Sports School (NTG). As mentioned, she's a former international in Judo, and an autorized physiotherapist. She is educated at the NTG and Oslo University College, and is expected to finish a master in Exercise Physiology at the Norwegian University of Schience and Technology (NTNU) during spring 2006. There, she is being tutored by professors Jan Hoff and Jan Helgerud, who RBK has earlier worked with.
Now, she gets the responsibility for working with improving the Rosenborg players' fitness, which has been critizised during the year.
"I plan to be very present in the daily physical training. And when the Tippeliga starts, the players shall be strong - from inside and out," Siri Marte Hollekim states firmly.
