Per-Ove Ludvigsen, Brann's director of sports, was the person who revealed that Viking were going to buy Ødegaard. Brann tried to get Ødegaard on loan this week.
"But Rune Bratseth and Rosenborg weren't interested. And as far as I know Ødegaard is already in agreement with Viking," Ludvigsen told the local paper Bergensavisen.
It is not certain how much the UEFA Cup contestants from Stavanger will pay for Ødegaard. Speculations have it that RBK wants 745,000 Euros for the attacker, who cost 1,250,000 Euros one year ago when he came from Sogndal to Lerkendal.
The stay in Trondheim became a nightmare for Ødegaard, who was Norwegian football's big newcomer star in 2004. He got extremely hard competition from Daniel Braaten and Thorstein Helstad, and was only in the starting eleven in seven league games. Therefore the boy from Førde is extremely happy to get to try his hand at being Viking's right winger.
"The club has improved after getting this amazing stadium. The supporters are also very good. Viking is an attractive club. Of course it is," Alexander Ødegaard told local Stavanger paper Rogalands Avis.
