A week prior to the home match against Zenit, Rosenborg is terribly struck by illness. Thorstein Helstad and Alexander Tettey are out as well.

Saturday, rbk.no reported that Per Ciljan Skjelbred and Ørjan Berg had to be home in Trondheim, but now it is clear that the number of home sitters is the double figure. In addition, Bjørn Tore Kvarme and Øyvind Storflor have become ill after arriving in Spain. All have the same sympthoms: fever and sore throat.
"As the players have been living so close together, we take it for granted that they all have gotten the same virus already, and then there's nothing much we can do than to isolate the ones getting sick. Lots of people in the county of Trondheim have been contaminated, especially children and youth. Usually it passes after two to four days," RBKs doctor Torbjørn Grøntvedt tells local Trondheim newspaper Adresseavisa.
This wave of sickness especially causes problem on the midfield, as some players are out with injuries already. Luckily, Jan Gunnar Solli is back after his groin operation, and will do his comeback in the friendly against FC Køpenhavn this afternoon.
In the forward line, Daniel Braaten is back after having had a quiet winter due to a troublesome groin. He will replace Karim Essediri, who has to obey the rules: Having played in the UEFA cup for Tromsø, he cannot play against Zenit St. Petersburg. Harald Brattbakk is also seen in the starting line, for the first time since his retour from Bodø/Glimt.
