Worn-out Bratseth takes a rest

Rune Bratseth has been given a four-month leave from his job as Sports Director.
"I was afraid that I would 'hit the wall'. You never know when that will happen, and so I wanted to take steps to prevent it. I do not want to burn out," Bratseth tells Norwegian daily VG.
The 45-year old informed the board two weeks ago, and has been granted a leave from coming Friday and until July 31st.
This is nothing dramatical, but Bratseth feels worn out from two and a half years containing three coaches leaving, and much negative focus.
"This is a job that eats you from the inside. You are under a constant focus, and must relate to that. Even when you have time off and relax, you have the responsibility. Everyone should take such a break now and then. Remember, I have had the same job for 12 years now. That's a long time in our business," Bratseth says.
The rest of the Sports Administration in RBK will deal with Bratseth's tasks during the summer, as for example all activities related to this summer's transfer window. Bratseth, for his part, will be using much of the time to learn new things about football and administration. Among other things, he plans a trip to his old club Werder Bremen, and to the World Cup.
"I hope and believe to be back in August, with many new ideas about both Rosenborg and Norwegian football," Rune Bratseth ends.
