Kone needs time

The expectations for Rosenborg's new attacker are high, much due to some good performances in the pre-season friendlies, but for now Yssouf Kone is still going to be a substitute.
The Burkina Faso striker scored five goals in the last six games before the league began, and got much attention - especially after two great goals in the final test against Viking.
"He scores goals, has a powerful shot and is an excellent header. He creates chances all the time," coach Per-Mathias Høgmo tells rosenborg.info.
But now that the league has begun, Kone has been stucked to the substitutes' bench. Tuesday he played for the reserve team against Levanger. He did not play too well, but the 24 year-old did score a goal in the 3-1 win.
"Yssouf needs to play as many games as possible. He has got everything you need to make it, both in Norway and abroad, but he does not know our collective play well enough yet," assistant coach Knut Tørum tells local Trondheim newspaper Adresseavisen.
That is the exact same that has been said about former foreign RBK players like Sebastián Eguren, Alejandro Lago, MacBeth Sibaya and Robert Boateng, but the coaches do not think that Kone will end up as a flop like them.
"Yssouf is going to be a substitute to begin with, something he is able to handle. When he learns our way of playing, things will all be well," Høgmo promises.
