This autumn, Rosenborg will switch to artificial grass. At least on one of the training fields.
Lerkendal Sports Park consists of three fields: Two normal grass fields, and one field for seven-player football with artificial grass. Coming August the natural grass on the oldest field will be dug up and replaced with artificial grass.
"Primarily, the juniors will benefit from this. Now, they won't have to travel all the way to the Abra hall for matches and training sessions; instead, they can stay at Lerkendal with the gym and the club house nearby," assistant coach Trond Henriksen tells.
The new artificial grass will have a price tag of €750.000 and be ready for use in October.
