Helstad to Brann

Rosenborg and Brann have agreed upon a transfer for Thorstein Helstad.
"Brann leads the league, and I feel that they can go all the way. They play a form of football that suits me well. I am more of a 4-4-2 forward than a 4-3-3-type. I have good memories of Bergen and feel that I have a great relationship to the people there," Helstad, who did score 62 goals in 124 matches for Brann in the period 1998-2002, states.
The 29-year-old was the Rosenbirg top scorer last year, and prior to this season he was pointed out as the team's centre forward - his favourite role. But injuries - and new competitors bought, partially as a result of those - spoiled the plans.
Now, Helstad leaves Lerkendal after merely two years since he was bought from Austria Wien.
"It was not an easy decision to make, but there were many factors to consider - both other clubs' interests and Thorstein's own wishes. But we have a broad range of attackers, and it was more or less given that some of them would leave after the spring season," Rosenborg's chief executive Nils Skutle says.
It is assumed that Brann pays around €500,000 for the forward. Helstad scored 15 goals in 34 league matches for RBK.
