RBK wants to sell Russell

Robbie Russell had intended to continue competing with rival back Christer Basma, but nonetheless Rosenborg are trying to get rid of the American.
Right back Robbie Russell has been injured most of the time the last one and a half years. After playing fairly well after his debut in the fall of 2004, he had surgery performed on his meniscus around christmas time. The surgery was a failure and Russell had to go through several new surgical procedures and retrain several times.
This spring he has played decently for RBK 2, and played both the cup matches against Kvik and Steinkjer. Still he is about to leave.
"We want him to play more than what he will be allowed to with us. That is why we have made this decision," coach Per-Mathias Høgmo told Trondheim daily paper Adressa.
Robbie Russell is puzzled by the decision.
"I was hoping for a fair chance to show what I'm able to do. After all I have been injured for a long rime and not gotten to play much. It was not fun recieving that message, but I guess that is what football is like?," he pondered.
