Still waiting for Sapara

Rosenborg are still awaiting a clarification to their €1.25 million offer for Marek Sapara as Ruzomberok tonight knocked Djurgården out of the Champions League qualifiers.

The Slovak double champions have no intentions of selling their captain as long as they are still in running for qualification to the grandest of European cups. After their 3-2 victory over the Swedes, CSKA Moscow are next in line in the 3rd qualifying round.
"We're not sure to get the player, but at least the process would have been smoother had they been knocked out tonight," Stig Torbjørnsen admits to Rosenborg Web.
The Rosenborg talent scout has been following Sapara over a long period of time, and already in October last year brought junior team coach Kåre Ingebrigtsen to Slovakia for a closer look at the midfielder.
"We need a new 'ball distributor' in the midfield and Sapara can contribute with both technical skills and sane tactical choices," Torbjørnsen says.
The competition for the 24-year-old's signature is vast though. Both Hamburg and Hannover have shown interest, but to Rosenborg Web's knowledge they have not made a concrete offer. Lillestrøm on the other hand were scared off after having a €1 million offer rejected.
At the moment Rosenborg seem the only definite alternative.
"It is a big club and I know they usually play in the Champions League," Marek Sapara tells the Slovak press.
He was surprised himself at the large offer from Trondheim. The question remains whether or not his employer will accept it.
"I'm not ruling out him moving to Rosenborg, but it is still to early to say for sure," Ruzomberok sports director Karol Valy comments.
