Royal League: Helsingborg the fourth opponent
By Håvard Lindheim, 7 November 2006, 10:03

Helsingborg will be the fourth and last club in Rosenborg's Royal League group, after having fumbled in the league ending.

Merely weeks ago, Henke Larsson and his team mates still fought for the championship, but after the 0-3 loss to Häcken recently, they fell down to a fourth spot on the table. As a result, Rosenborg travels to Skåne on November 18th to get revenge for the bitter 0-2 loss of year 2000. The two other opponents in the group are, as known, Brann and Danish club Odense.

Rosenborg looks forward to play the six matches before Christmas.

"We are going to participate in Europe again, and need the chances we get to practice and prepare. We want to end this season in the best possible way, and after that, play the final rounds in March," Knut Tørum tells rosenborg.info.

It has been speculated in whether RBK will use the Scandinavian winter tournament to test some of the players that haven't been given much playing time so far this year, but Tørum partially denies it:

"The best team will play. We want to advance in the Royal League, and we'll up the ante by sending out the best team possible to every match. But it might be that we'll have some sicknesses and such, and then someone else will get their chance," Tørum admits.

RBK kicks off home against Brann this Thursday at 19.30. Norwegian broadcaster TVNorway will show the match, and Canal+ will show other matches from this tournament.

Match Days
09.11. Rosenborg - Brann

26.11. Odense - Rosenborg

Semi final: March 8th, 10th or 11th
