Odense - Rosenborg 5-3

Odense sent out their reserves, but still, the Danes won very easy against RBK - who have started the Christmas holidays, mentally, a long time ago.

RBK was the most avaricious team in the league, with only 24 conceded goals in 26 matches. In Royal League, the defense leaks like a sieve, and has let in a whooping 11 goals in 3 matches. One can easily be lead to believe that there is a certain lack of motivation.
Odense have impressed in the UEFA cup this autumn, and hunts an advancement. Therefore, the team from Fyn in Denmark chose to spare 10 out of the 11 regular players - goalkeeper included - when RBK came visinting. Still, the home team grabbed the lead after merely three minutes, and it was to be worse.
As against Brann and Helsingborg, it mainly was the central defense that failed, with personal errors and a lack of pressure on the opponent leading the ball. Bjørn Tore Kvarme was especially unlucky/bad, and should have prevented several of Odense's goals. Jan Gunnar Solli struggled with an unusual right back position and delivered a number of dangerous passes.
In the attack, RBK were more up to it, and Øyvind Storflor could write down his third and fourth goal so far in the Royal League. The efficiency was bad, however, and where Odense scored - RBK missed.
The loss was in all deserved, and now it will be very hard for a perplexed Rosenborg to qualify for the quarter finals in March.
"OB got a match that was too easy, as we did a number of mistakes in the defensive work. We are disappointed, but at the same time we congratulate OB with a deserved win," Knut Tørum told royalleague.com.
