Didier Konan won the prize for player of the year in the Ivorian league 2006.

The choice was made by the Ivorian football federation, and the prizes will be awarded Thursday, AFP writes.

Konan impressed with his play for ASEC Abidjan last year, and scored 11 goals for the league champions. His play in the Champions League was also great - he scored eight goals in ten matches before ASEC were sent out of the tournament in the semi-finals.

The performances in the last two games against LSK and KR shows that the national team player might be on his way to becoming a good player for Rosenborg.
