Marek Sapara set the stage by giving RBK the lead after a cross from Fredrik Stoor, who was set up by an energic Per Ciljan Skjelbred.
"For the first time this season we got the first goal of the match. That was important and gave us confidence. The goal was almost a fluke. The ball came at me in a very high speed, and almost hit me rather than I shooting it," a smiling Sapara said to rbkweb.no.
The feeling of fortune was good for the moral of the players, and RBK displayed some quick attacking football. Rosenborg settled the match early in the second half, with Sapara was involved again. Kone didn’t hit the cross properly, bit Skjelbred did better and hammered the ball into the top of the net. Only four minutes later, Skjelbred sat up Iversen who made space for himself and calmly scored via the post.
Yssouf Koné ended the goal-glut when he headed a Sapara free-kick into the top corner. Thus, Trond Henriksen’s final home game became exactly as in his sweet-dreams.
"Compared to the other matches this season, I believe everything was better today. We keep a clean sheet, we succeed in playing the style of football we want to and have been practicing this whole year. We manage to get into good crossing positions, we make good crosses, and we have several players in the box to take care of the crosses. In addition, we convert the opportunities into goals, and goals always change the rhythm of the game. Getting the first goal was important, and two quick goals after the break more or less settles it," Henriksen said.
PS! Abdou Traoré was not in the match squad for this match, despite starting the last matches. "That’s how it is sometimes," Henriksen stated.
PPS! John Pelu made his league debut for Rosenborg - his first match at home.
