The 36-year-old planned to retire in December, but was persuade to continue one more season after the departures of Vidar Riseth and Miika Koppinen - while Alejandro Lago was not granted a new work permit.
Lago however stayed and Kris Stadsgaad and Vadim Demidov have proved to be central defenders of the future. Therefore Kvarme last week decided to resign - almost exactly 17 years after his Rosenborg debut against Lillestrøm 7 July 1991.
The result of his last match could have been better.
"The 1st half was boring. I don't think any of the teams created much. Then we get a bad ending, when Fredrik (Stoor) was sent off, "Kvarme says.
"We were pushed back, and therefore we should be satisfied with one point. But we came here for three, so it is a bid disappointing," he admits.
Also Friday night RBK were ineffective.
"We had some goal attempts, but that they had too - we should forget that," Bjørn Tore Kvarme ends.
