"This is not interesting for us, and the bid is rejected," director of sports Erik Hoftun tells Trondheim daily Adresseavisen.
Other Premier League clubs like Blackburn, Tottenham and Newcastle are also watching Skjelbred. Ajax are said to be one of many possible buyers on the continent. The interest has been big since his breakthrough in 2005, but this is said to be the first concrete offer Rosenborg have received.
RBK have all season been discussing a new contract with the midfielder, who in the moment is commited until the end of 2009. Skjelbred has a deadline until Friday to respond on the latest lucrative contract offer from Rosenborg.
If the two parties do not agree, Rosenborg will be considering a sale this summer or in the two transfer windows next year in order to get some money for the local Trondheim lad.
