OSLO (rosenborg.info): With Steffen Iversen injured and Didier Konan suspended due to three yellow cards, John Pelu and Besart Berisha had to take care of scoring for RBK.
Led by an eager Pelu, who started his first game in four months, Rosenborg owned the game. The reward came after 30 minutes, when Marek Sapara served Pelu with an elegant pass that the former sent into the net.
Roar Strand doubled the lead with another elegant attack from the right. He too got away from his defenders and scored.
"We controlled the game, but they started well and had a great chance in the beginning. After that we took over. 2-0 came right before half time," Erik Hamrén concluded.
After that the game died out.
"We were going to keep the ball in the team, and let them run. We became tired, but became tired. We weren't able to win the ball as far up on the pitch as in the first half. So we had longer to go to get to the goal," Hamrén explained.
Subsitute Jo Sondre Aas had one great chance, but otherwise Lyn got closest to scoring. Tomasz Sokolowski got a goal three minutes into overtime.
Since Tromsø and Bodø/Glimt lost, Rosenborg are now fourth, one point behind third place, with three games left to play.
PS! Per Ciljan Skjelbred suffered a knee injury. He will probably be out for at least two weeks.
PPS! About half of the crowd supported RBK
