"Rade is a player with the qualities I have been looking for since I came to the club. With the injury history of Steffen (Iversen) it is good to have someone to step in. I also think they can become a successful duo up front," Hamrén told TV2.
In 2006/07 Prica was Danish topscorer with 19 goals after a free transfer from Hansa Rostock, which had been relegated from the Bundesliga. He continued his success the following season, including in the UEFA Cup where among others Sampdoria were beaten.
Prica made 31 goals in 59 matches for Aalborg before his £2M transfer to Sunderland the previous winter.
"I know Erik Hamrén well and am looking forward to continue the co-operation with him," Rade Prica told Adresseavisen on the airport this morning.
The 28-year-old scored in his Sunderland debut against Birmingham, but after five more matches as sub everyting halted. His last game was at Chelsea in March last year.
The transfer fee is believed to be around 8 million NOK.
Rosenborg might even sign another striker today: Dario Zahora had a good trial, and the decision will be taken later today.
