Lyn - Rosenborg 1-1
By Endre Bakken, 7 May 2009, 17:03

The game became a soporific affair, where Rune Jarstein went from hero to failure.

RBK were the best team in the beginning, and Rade Prica, Roar Strand and Vadim Demidov all mishandled good opportunities to score in the first few minutes.

After that Lyn got into the game, but hadn't created any chances to score when Marek Sapara fouled Diego Gustavino after 24 minutes. Gustavino took the penalty himself and failed miserably with his badly placed lob, which Jarstein saved easily.

The rest of the half was a snooze. Rosenborg controlled the game, but were unable to get close to scoring. The midfield became static in Per Ciljan Skjelbred absence, who was out with a concussion. After half time Trond Olsen took over for Strand, and helped speed up the game.

The prettiest attack in the game came two minutes into the second half: Mikael Lustig sent a crossball to Prica, who headed down to Tettey. The midfielder took down the ball nicely, but blasted it over the crossbar.

The minute after Lustig sent a pass by goalkeeper Johan Dahlin, but Prica was unable to reach the ball.

Then Lyn recieved much needed help from Rune Jarstein. Gustavino dribbled past Olsen, Lustig and Stadsgaard before he from 17 metres shot past the RBK goalie. Jarstein let the ball slide between his hands, and it went above his shoulder.

"It was a terrible mistake on my part. It was a shame we didn't get three points, and it was all my fault," the national goalie told TV2.

Marek Sapara saved the day for Jarstein and one point for RBK two minutes later with a great free-kick. From the 16 metre mark he sent it into the top right corner.

It seemed that the teams were happy with the 1-1 result, because the game slowed down once more. Rosenborg continued getting corners, but created no chances.

"It would have been sweet with three points. We started the second half well, where we had 15-20 minutes where our drive was good. I had hoped we would get the winning goal in that period, but then they got one instead. Luckily, we equalized immediately," Trond Henriksen concluded.

He was substituting for Erik Hamrén, who was home in Göteborg due to illness in his immediate family.
