"We barely won, and should be very happy with three points," "Lusse" explained.
The right back headed in the only goal of the match on a corner from Marek Sapara ten minutes before the end.
"I got to the ball first, and it went into the near corner," was his description of his first goal since the one against Vålerenga last year.
Rosenborg did not start the game well.
"We tried playing good football in the first half, and focused too much on it, perhaps. We became indecisive. We tried to play via the midfield, but lost the ball too many times and Viking got opportunites to counterattack constantly. We should have tried fighting more," Erik Hamrén concluded.
Things didn't become better when Rune Jarstein the minute before half time fouled Birkir Bjarnason with a slide tackle. Because the Viking-player was on his way to the cornerflag the goalie didn't get any cards, and saved the weak penalty from Ragnvald Soma.
Jarstein came into focus after an hour, when he let a shot from Jone Samuelsen go past him. Luckily the ball rolled so slowly that Jarstein was able to turn around and pick it up.
Rosenborg woke up after the blunder, and created several chances. Marek Sapara helped out with good crossballs after he was moved to the right flank after starting in the centre. A solid Myhre kept RBK from scoring for a long time.
"We tried playing a bit simpler. We sent long balls to Steffen and Rade, and tried to find some space behind the backline. In the second half we were better than them," Lustig concluded.
