The victory game came in the 76. minute, when the top-scorer shot straight into the right top corner from 32 meters.
"It was one of my hardest shots ever. That it went in was great. Fantastic," Rade Prica said with a smile.
Aalesund were, like expected, defensive, but in terms of chances the first half was equal. Rune Jarstein had to stretch for a shot from Diego Silva early in, and after half an hour Daniel Arnefjord sent a header into the bar.
Trond Olsen got closest to scoring for Rosenborg, when he sent a free-kick into the bar. The rebound ended up with Steffen Iversen, who virtually passed the ball to the goalie. RBK struggled with creating opportunities to score.
Prica should have given RBK the lead, when Iversen served him on the 16 meter mark. But the low shot was saved by Anders Lindegaard.
Instead Aalesund scored: Mikael Dorsin passed to Silva, who shot via Kris Stadsgaard's foot, thereby fooling Jarstein.
Dorsin got his revenge soon after, with a corner that ended with an equalizer. Abdou Traoré got help from Demar Phillips, who stopped the ball with his heel.
Then Prica's goal came and RBK won for the first time since the gold medal was secured in Molde. Mushaga Bakenga and Michael Karlsen got their third match for the season, and became champions too.
