Yeah, and the so-called "Flo-pass" is also something he is found of.

Cannot find the place again where I have posted my question relating how Flonaldo is doing in Leeds (as I know he plays there now). But since here is smth. written about Flo, I could think it was here? A little bit confusing! Rolling Eyes Confused So, it would be nice to hear, if he finally hits the goal again! Even if he was in VIF! Wink

The Flo pass was invented for his brother Jostein. Smile

Ah, I see. Too many Flos in the 90´s Smile Tore Andre, Jostein and Håvard (he is not related, is he). Thereafter had to come "ebbe"/"lavvann" again...
Well, it is now off-topic and before I am spamming the thread I just want to say again that I lost my origin question about Flo (and cannot find it by the search-function). Maybe I forgot to send the post? Confused

HÃ¥vard is Jostein and Tore Andre's cousin Wink
There's a bunch of others too, they just never made it outside the country.
And no, I did see your question earlier tonight, but I'm not sure in wich post.

Quick question. Just been watching some footage of the Champions League in season 1999-2000, how did both RBK and Molde qualify for the tournament?

RBK was directly qualified due to the fact that Man U won the year before. Molde qualified by playing 0-2 and 4-0 against CSKA Moscow, and 0-0, 1-1 against RCD Mallorca. Molde won on away goals.

The reason why we had two places, was Norway's good ranking; 15th.

We was actually nr 10, and since Manchester United was defending champion and directly quialified as both that and champion in PL, Norway and RBK got one of Englands direct spots.

It was one of the only times we did not need qualifiers. That we played CL so often is remarkable in itself for a Norwegian team, to do it with almost every time a qualifying round to play, is even more remarkable.

No real surprising results in the UEFA Cup this time, apart from maybe Bayern Munich only playing 2-2 versus Aberdeen. I could be wrong but I have the impression that Bayern doesn't really care about the UEFA Cup, they seem to not try very hard to win it. A Bayern that is motivated should always win in Aberdeen really. And their earlier results in the group phase were also not impressive at all.

I remember that Norway had two teams some other season in the early 2000's, but Lillestrøm humiliated themselves.

Yeah, Brann didn't take their chance very well, eighter.

Come too think about it, Molde must be historical in CL-history, since they have too be the team coming from the smallest city ever to play in the competition?

Or aren't they?

Is Molde the smallest town ever in the CL? What about FC Thun from Switzerland? Also a really small place ... Kaiserslautern has also played CL, also not exactly a big city.

Molde, 24,221 (2007)
Thun, 42,136 (January 2006)
Kaiserslautern, 98,044 (31/12/2006)

No doubt about those three atleast.

There seems to be a curse on all those village teams in the CL though...

Molde relegated in 2006.
FC Thun is on the bottom spot in the Swiss league now and is facing relegation very likely.
FC Kaiserslautern relegated a few seasons ago and is in financial problems.

So all those small village teams who reached the CL are in deep trouble now, not very long after their moment of glory.

We had two teams so late as in 2005-06. VÃ¥lerenga did well, and were only a shootout from the main groupstage. So fun if Norway had managed two teams again. VIF were elimated in the first UEFA-cup round the same season, though, 1-6 against the Steaua team we beat 4-3 Razz

Not a gooner myself, but what a team they`ve got. How often do you see AC Milan being played off the park at home and Kaka reduced to an average player ? With a few exceptions, the best teams never win the major tournaments, so I`d still rank them as outsiders for the Champions League this season.

I remember a night back in 1996 when AC Milan was played off the park at home, and both Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi was reduced to average players by a hero from Rennebu.

I hope Fenerbahce is going to win this CL. Not exactly my favourite Turkish team, but in Europe and with no Norwegian teams left I wish the Turkish teams well. Also, the alternatives to Fener don't appeal to me at all. Too many English and Italian teams left as usual, the tournament was so much better when it just had 1 team from every country.

Oh, maybe we should wish Schalke well, if they'd get far it would make our defeat more "honourable".

PS: Anderlecht - Bayern 0-5 Very Happy Biggest European home defeat ever for Anderlecht, maybe this will somewhat reduce their gigantic ego.
