Heerenveen... The clubs far right past is something often ignored by people or simply not known, but it is by far the most xenophobic place in Holland to play football. Also, the Dutch league may be interesting if you play for the likes of Ajax or PSV, other than that it is not such a step up. With Rosenborg he would have had European exposure most seasons (yes, I refuse to believe we will miss out on Europe twice in a row) which is a huge question mark in Heerenveen. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

I think rosenborg should still get a striker. Iversen can score a decent amount of goals but we still need a back up or a possible attacking partner. Perhaps somebody strong in the air that could substitute iversen in that formation. what about Fredrik Gulsvik?? he is young, powerful and quite decent in the air! |

just wondering what rosenborg fans think of transfers around tippeliga in general?
things have been quiet enough in fairness.the league has lost some of its stars though.stabaek have lost two of their stars from last season in gunnarsson and alanzinho.i think sokolowski whos moved to viking should help him progress more after his influential role at the heart of lyn oslo`s team.
teams seem to be feeling the financial burden but i still find it hard that tromso have decided not to cash in on reginiussen who attracted alot of interest especially from blackburn and fulham.seems like he will leave for nothing when his contract is up but i doubt he is happy |

I noticed Haugensund's American Cam Weaver has gone back to his homeland with San Jose Earthquakes. http://web.mlsnet.com/new...;team=t110.
Does anyone think Hamren will sign someone from MLS? The Cooper deal looks off however I think he said at the time he'd watched a few games over there. Also noticed San Jose have Ramiro Corrales, ex-Brann. |

Since the Cooper deal seem to be put off, I doubt we'll watch a player from the MLS on Lerkendal this season.
Looks more like someone is coming in from the eastern parts of europe, but i'll imagine we'll be chasing a swedish striker in the end.
They are cheap, good and have the same mentality as that of the norwegians. Besides, the other swedish players in Rosenborg seems to do fine. |

If we look even Eastern than Sweden, the problem is the big money; star players in former USSR have far bigger wages than we can offer. |

A lot of players are coming from the Baltic states these days e.g Lithuania, should be cheaper than Russia. |

Often these clubs are government funded too; as far as I know e.g. Rubin Kazan is heavily financial supported by the guvernor in their region. |

there is some good talent in the baltics these days.
one of our rivals bohemians, who rbk beat a few years ago got knocked out of the intertoto cup by fk riga of latvia.mindaugas kalonas who played for riga moved to bohs and set the league on fire.after interest from sevilla he has gone to greece as far as i know.
this year two of his team mates have followed his role and come to ireland.from what iv seen of gints freimanis who we signed,he looks like a good capture.we played chelsea in a friendly recently and he levelled it up with a cracking goal.
no doubt rosenborg can unearth some potential in the baltics |

Eric Bassombeng, right winger of Örebro, is said to be of interest for Rosenborg. Skjelbred has not been top class at the right flank, and it is not a surprise we are looking for options. |

CELTIC are poised to swoop for Sweden Under-21 skipper Mattias Bjrsmyr (sic) from under the noses of Rangers.
(...)
Belgium outfit Brugge have already made a bid for the 23-year-old, with Feyenoord also linked.
That has prompted Celts to show their hand in the hope of completing the move.
Bjrsmyr's contract with Gothenburg runs out next January which means he can sign a pre-contract agreement on July 1, leaving only compensation of around 400,000 to be agreed.

Rosenborg are also said to be interested in Bjärsmyr. |

Yes, I can confirm that is true.
He will stay in the norwegian tippeliga side Molde until January 2010. (1) He will not be able to get a work permit for England unless he plays fotball for the Senegal natioal team.
Molde was allegedly paid around £4 mil. for M. B. Diouf. Man United said they don't want to participate in the high fees being paid for star class players, so they looked elsewhere. They got loads of surplus after the C. Ronaldo sale, so £4 mil for Diouf is not alot.
Currently a non-EU player applying for the permit must have played for his country in at least 75% of its competitive 'A' team matches for which he was available for selection during the previous two years, and his country must have averaged at least 70th place in the official FIFA world rankings over the previous two years. If a player does not meet those criteria, the club wishing to sign him may appeal if they believe that he is a special talent and "able to contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in the UK. (2)
M. B. Diouf currently got no apps for the Senegal national team.

Hmm..not sure. Cooper would have been immense and Gustavino appears to be a bit of a second choice although he's scored a few goals in a relatively poor Lyn team.
Money is obviously an issue. If we had money, maybe there's similar players who'd probably offer more?
Moldskred? Bolanos?
Suppose they'd cost a small fee.
Mads Stokkelien looks a good talent, Iversen like in his ability to just score goals. |
