2-1 defeat at Telenor to Stabaek. VIF are beating Tromso 0-1 whilst Molde beat Haugesund 3-1.

Time to worry? It looks almost certain we will have to win the head-to-head games against the top teams this year in addition to the games we 'should' win.

Tromso did win the game, but that didn't make the situation much better.

Right, TIL look good and it's kind of weird that it's Hogmo who is is leading them this year to success. Any thoughts on his time with RBK? Can they hold it together?

I guess time will tell, but thing is for sure, Molde are for real this year and we need to start winning.

Molde are the real favourites, since Tromsø are struggling away.

Here we go then...RBK vs Molde!

They are on great form...we're not, but we have new players and full focus now that the CL is gone. The question is, can we afford to lose? Probably not, but then again a draw isn't good for us either.

3-1 was great, but I do think we need kind of a 2006 autumn to win the title. At least we need to win a lot of the coming matches in August and September, and make Molde a bit nervous.

One point against Stabæk and Sogndal is really a bit frustating afterwards.

Great win for us. This result says to me that RBK with best eleven is the best in the league. Rade Prica is also the best striker in the league when available.

That said, as 2mas says, Molde can really only throw it away now IMO. They're not a great side, but they have been consistent this year whilst RBK/VIF/TIL/Aafk have had European distractions.

Wow, 6-0 against Odd. They are pretty bad tonight but still, nice confidence boost ahead of the final run-in. Surely Molde are too good this year but I guess we could salvage pride with a top three finish.

I left my PC at 6-0, 7-0 is better though!

Massive game tonight, we need to win against VIF realistically and it's not going to be easy. I fancy us though, 1-2.

Molde 0-0'd with Odd so we have a great chance to make up ground tonight.

Sadly, we're losing 1-2 to Aafk, and we have 10 men. Let's hope we can turn it around and close the gap.

Bah, 2-2. I guess better than nothing, but with this result, are our title hopes gone?

Now we need to fokus at taking a bronse or a silver. I dont take that as sure after the performance yesterday. If VÃ¥lerenga finnish with a better position at the table at end sessong, It's bad, realy realy bad.

Is this year a sign of things to come i.e rebuilding, or a smaller economy?

For example, it's clear that there are some really good young players coming through, yet there is no replacement for experienced pro's right? The kind maybe that Molde/VIF have bought?

Any worry that this is the start of a longer trend? Where can we get more investment without European football or transfer fees?

I guess you know about the new investment company, contributing with 15m NOK to new players? Chibuike was bought with some of this money.

I think it will be good for Norwegian football if every club stop using more money than they have. RBK still have to lower the players' wages, and the process has begun.

No, didn't know about this. We know all about Odd Reitan, one of Norway's richest men right? Who is Witzoe? Is he an entrepreneur too?

Agree - but the so called 'mega-rich' e.g Fredriksen, Rokke can and probably will fund Molde/VIF for the foreseeable as they can afford it right? The oil price is high, and will continue to get higher, so these guys are well placed to grow their wealth. Should the Norske Fotball people step into make new rules regarding investment?

No, if Fredriksen will spend more money on VIF, he of course should be allowed.

The problem in Norway is that the clubs usually don't have anyone covering their debt.

If he should be allowed to spend more, then should he be 'required' to cover the debt?

Debt was kind of a wrong word: I was thinking on yearly losses (i.e. budget deficits).

Rosenborg can cover losses with equity while e.g. Røkke and Fredriksen can cover the losses of Molde and Vålerenga.

Other clubs simply have to cut their budgets to avoid debt.

I guess it's a complicated subject; especially with UEFA now involved.

With RBK, I guess the re-development of Lerkendal takes priority along with other things that will increase our revenues. That way, we can naturally improve our balance sheet.

Bahh, Molde win gold tonight after drawing 2-2 vs SIF. This meant RBK could technically still draw level with them if they won their two remaining matches and MFK lost both of their's. Alas, 3-6 against Brann! I guess at 1-6 it could have been much much worse.

There we have it; we get thrashed by Brann at home whilst Molde win the gold. Still, hopefully we can still snatch second place and salvage at least something from what's been a pretty average season.

Grrr... Do you see any chance for the third place? We need help both from AaFK and S08. And what happens if RBK and Brann have the same amount of points?
I can't imagine a season without e-cups. RBK needs to keep its name in Europe. Neutral
Btw. what about fair-play (last possibility, I know, but what can we do...)

Goal difference is in our favour.

The fair play table as of 12 August was bad news:

Tromsø (8,10)
Molde (8,10)
Stabæk (8,08)
Rosenborg (7,95)
Sarpsborg 08 (7,93)
Brann (7,93)
Strømsgodset (7,89)
Haugesund (7,85)
Viking (7,83)
Sogndal (7,78)
Lillestrøm (7,76)
Odd (7,71)
Aalesund (7,71)
VÃ¥lerenga (7,70)
Start (7,65)
Fredrikstad (7,60)

We are said to be passed by Sarpsborg since then.
