Trabzonspor does not deserve Jonas, it is the most unstable team (in a currently unstable country)
Trabzonspor fans are famous for their instability and madness. they attacked a referee last year - on the pitch during the game -
they also shot - with actual guns - at fenerbahce team bus a couple of years ago
and have reputation for attacking their own players.
although their manager is a very good one (ersun yanal) it would be a terrible choice for Jonas to go to Trabzon.
also, I wouldn't want him to. keep the real Tronder's in the team. good to have Fredrik, Jonas and Pal around (wish Ole was still around as well)
keep the core RBK

Jonas is from Verdal so he is used to that kind of stuff.

Jokes aside, thank you for a great post, Jitta138! RBK

I'm a fan of Bristol City (English championship side) and our local newspaper has linked us to Svensson recently. How likely do you think this transfer is, and what do you think of him as a player?

Not likely at all.

One of our best players. Been excellent at right back after being converted from midfield during 2014. Was really good last season and fantatstic at the start of 2016. Had ha slight dip in form during the second half of the season but is no doubt a great player. He has been great at coming forward and combining with our other players on the right side and he has contributed with a lot of assists and good crosses. Defensively he is also good, though he is better going forward. But he gets better and better in defense as well, which make sense seeing that he used to be a midfielder and not a defender.

Haven't heard anything about the Bristol City rumours though, but it is quite likely that he might leave Rosenborg during the winter as he would like to try himself on a higher level. I would be suprised if he went to Bristol City as I would think he would like to go to a top tier team, most likley in Germany maybe. Other top 5 leagues are also likely and also a top team in Netherlands i would think but a move to Germany might make the most sense.

EDIT: Seen the rumours now, but I still don't think that he would move to the Championship.

Bristol is a great City just to make that clear. But I honestly think the bottom half of the Championship would be a step down for him.

But the league, competition and I assume the paycheck, is a step up from Rosenborg and the norwegian league. Could be a good choice for Jonas

Bristol City is a dead end and hopefully Jonas aims a wee bit higher than that. If he were to move to a Championship club, he should at least go for one who has a fair chance of being promoted to the Premier League.

Good player who potentially could become very, very good, but lacks a bit on the tactical part of his game still. If you managed to sign him you should be quite happy - great potential! He played roughly 60 games last season, so he's very fit, which I guess is important in your league.

I'd expect him to get picked up by a continental club (Dutch, Belgian or possibly a French club) this winter in any case. But I guess Championship clubs can at the very least match those leagues financially these days.

I would disagree with this part, as I think he is very good when it comes to tactics in the offensive part of the field. In my opinion, he is probably our best player when it comes to making sweet combinations with his teammates in offense (our right side is great in general when it comes to this). I mean, making 10 assists (should have been more based on the fact that we missed some enormous chances in front of goal in the start of the season) is very impressive in 30 league games as a right back who does not even take as much as a single free kick.

However, I would agree that he might have som issues with his tactics when it comes to the defensive part of the game. Sometimes he places himself in awkward ways when being challenged by a winger, and quite often he also leaves a bit too much space for the other team to find their winger on the outside (basically, I think he goes too close to our centre halfs). But, he has only played as a right back for 2.5 years, and he keeps on improving all the time. As an example of how quickly he improves, you should know that he played a very weird game against Belgium. In the 15 first minutes, he looked completely useless, but as he adjustet (quickly, I must say) to the tempo of the game, he looked as good as anyone else on the pitch for the last 75, controlling Belgiums left side - that included the likes of Hazard, De Bruyne and Mertens (who all rotated as LW). That tells you exactly how far Jonas Svensson could go.

Anyways, the transfer seems unlikely, and I really hope we get to keep him for longer. He is incredibly professional, and he has turned into one of the best players in our league (which unfortunately is a very bad league at the moment).

I was indeed referring to his potential for improvement in the defensive part of his game.

I'm basing this reply off Google Translate so if I've misunderstood something I'm sorry. After reading you say that rugby and cricket are bigger in the South West.. well implying Bristol.. I just had to sign up to this forum to correct you. If you want evdience of this other than that I've lived here my whole life.. just let me know. Also fair enough not judging us as promotion contenders this season (all of our fans would agree except a few) but saying we will get relegated a couple of times before maybe going up to prem is crazy but fair play if you predict right because the chances of that happening are very unlikely. We have a young promising team here and what is going on off the pitch is very exciting and promising! A billionaire local owner that loves the club, a young and upcoming forward thinking manager (although he has a some critics at the moment), a new redeveloped stadium etc. I wouldn't be suprised if we were in for Svensson because he's young and we have been buying abroad recently. We brought in Hordur Magnusson at the start of the season and already brought in 3 different nationalities players (Milan Duric, Jens Hegeler and Bailey Wright although he was bought from preston whom are in the same league. Anyway all the best for the rest of the season whether that's with or without Svensson.

Cricket er sport nummer to.

I am probably guilty of exaggerating a bit. But my impressions of the Southwest are mainly of Cider-drinking pirates watching Rugby.

Bristol being a big City is obviously a bit different, but I stand by my statement that the Soutwest of England has nothing like the kind of Football Culture that you find in the North, in West Midlands and in London.

As well as a winger, the Robins are also in the market for a full-back, and Rosenborg defender Jonas Svensson has been linked with a possible move to the English second tier.

Asked if further signings were likely before the window closes, head coach Johnson commented:

"There are a couple of positions we feel can be bolstered and we're looking. We're still in the mix, we're still in the market."

[Bristol] City are not about to make a move for Rosenborg defender Jonas Svensson, but a player of his undoubted calibre would certainly aid City's fight for Championship survival.

It remains to be seen whether City's head coach pursues an orthodox right-back or a specialist wing-back to plug the gap created by injuries to Matthews and Little.

Do you have any idea how certain the transfer is?

He sounds like a good player, but we do have traumatic experiences with the Swedish Mattias Johansson who is fine in attack but can't keep up with wingers. I read this is also a weak point of Svensson, do we have anything to fear?

He's not the best defensively, but he makes up for it with being very professional and a hard worker in my opinion.

1,5 million euro but I'm afraid that's copied from media in Norway.

Seems that more sources say the same: ‘AZ heeft Noor Svensson bijna binnen’

AZ gaat zich op korte termijn versterken met Jonas Svensson (23), een rechtsback die momenteel onder contract staat bij het Noorse Rosenborg BK. De deal is op een haar na beklonken, zo laten bronnen rond de AZFanpage weten.
