He thinks its strange that you use the David star and that Jewish candelabra (I don't know what it is called) etc. on your match shirts/in your logos etc. Having a team shirt with a Christian cross on it would be unthinkable in Europe. |

It seems like some clubs in Israel are willing to pay big salaries: Dereck Boateng from AIK will have a €2m net salary for three years in Beitar Jerusalem.

2mas thats because they have the money, they turned from a poor club to a very rich club.
Gerrit, maccabi haifa also played in that stadium, that is not our home stadium but we play there because of the war and uefa not allowing us to host a game in kiryat eliezer (mhaifa's stadium)
also theres a problem with the rockets and news keep telling us to go to secure rooms so i might have a problem to post here _________________ ~GA

Thanks people...I really appreciate it but they got to Haifa this morning while I was sleeping with around 20 rockets...It's really scary hearing these rockets. _________________ ~GA

You know... Islam, Christianity etc. |
I think he meant "what religion" (as in "what religious symbols?") but still: great reply
I dislike political hatred in football (as in Scotland, mainly Glasgow) and to be honest Israeli football seems to do an excellent job in banning sectarianism. Both national team and several club teams have fielded mixed teams with both Jewish and Arab players, and it seems to mostly go without a single problem or riot. I wish I could say the same about Northern Ireland football _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Not that strange: Besiktas and Fenerbahce both have the half moon symbol (symbolising Islam) in their logo, and so do several clubs in western Europe where many ethnic muslims play (in my native Belgium for example, Turkse Rangers -a club for Turkish immigrants- use the islamic symbol as well in their logo)
I have nothing against it, as long as there's no hatred and tensions involved in the stadium. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Wow I couldn't find this thread, I'll explain about the symbol...
Beitar is an organization back from when Israel or before Israel was born, so they use it as their logo symbol..but still there must be a better reason.
Update::
UEFA Cup 1st
Maccabi Haifa - PFC Litex Lovech (BUL)
FC Chornomorets Odesa (UKR) - Hapoel Tel-Aviv
I hope the games are going to be in Israel and not in some damn neutral country so MH can make something out of this year.. _________________ ~GA

Litex last year eliminated RC Genk from my native country Belgium. They're not a bad side, but they should be overcome by Haifa. Underestimating is dangerous, but if you're well concentrated it should be a win for Maccabi. Good luck! _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

It's not that unthinkable actually. The cross appears on some national team shirts, like the Norwegian one, in the national flag. It may not be usual for teams to display a christian cross openly, but it often appears in sublimized form, as part of a flag, city symbol, disguised as other objects (plants, weapons), etc.
PS. The candelabra is called a menorah. _________________ "Engang en ret forvoven Jyde

I don't know why I bumped this but the way Maccabi plays in the league is not so well!! Maccabi haifa are 8th after 9 games, 3 wins, 4 ties and 2 loses with 13 points.
Beitar are leading with 20 points and 10 games.
Also need me to say we're missing a game because of uefa cup.. _________________ ~GA

Maccabi 'germany' Tel Aviv?
I started following the Israeli league more since seeing you on the forums. And I really MUST visit that Ramat Gan stadium, it's one of the most colourful stadiums I ever saw on a picture! _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

How is it to live and follow the league, when you have people are suicidal and rockets etc?
For me that is scary...
I think that Maccabi Haifa or B. Jerusalem wil win the league. |

We don't have any suicidals so far the army is doing great work
and for rockets they do fall only on the south from gazza..but what does that have to do with football? back on topic
To be honest I don't think we can win the league, we need to focus on UEFA more because if you win it you don't have to go to CL and lose at 3rd qualifying match thanks to goal at the 90th minute. _________________ ~GA

Jurgen Cavens, my fellow countryman from Belgium and currently playing for local team Germinal Beerschot, may move to Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Maccabi have outed interest in him, and the Germinal Beerschot director has allowed them to negotiate with the player. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

yes i hope all countries fights against racism, this does not belong to the soccer. But i wouldnt use the word "germany" for nazi players today germany is a "multiculti" country. We are open for everyone how you saw at World Cup 2006. Train branch with friends . Ah one question, in your league in Israel u havent winter recess or u have ? I think its warm over the entire year _________________ My personal motto :

I have nothing against Germany you might want to know that, we hate nazis and neo nazis and I don't think anyone here would give me any reason not to.
We don't have winter breaks or anything like that because it barely even rains here anymore, Maccabi Haifa beats hapoel gazza tel aviv by the way 3-2, it was 3-0 to maccabi in the first half and hapoel's captain got red card, on the second half we ate 2 goals and I don't know how that happens to us!!! _________________ ~GA

Paradise. We in Ireland have not had a week without rain the last 3 months. The rain pours down and the wind makes it a true storm. It almost becomes depressing...
And of course no one will blame you for hating nazi's. It's the ideology of hatred and hopefully it will never see the light of day anymore. The holocaust should never be forgotten and hopefully will remind people forever of the dangers of far-right politics. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!
