Bergen, the town wich Brann belongs to had 85 days with rain in a row before it stopped yesterday. The norwegian record is 97 days in a row.
Bergen is well-known for their wet climate.

Maccabi Haifa eats 4 pieces from Herzelia the weakest team in the league, in home stadium.
Go Rosenborg now I'm only with you no europe next year for me! _________________ ~GA

I read an article on VÃ¥lerenga at vg.no today, and in the end, their coach said that one of their juniors became a professional in the Israeli League last year? Can anyone tell me more about this?

Professional he is not.
He plays in Hakoah Ramat-Gan a team fighting for their survival in the league, I'll tell you more the next time I see him play. _________________ ~GA

If you win the UEFA Cup, you are allowed to defend your title. Go for it!

Is that serious or are you making fun of good ol' green apes?
We win UEFA Cup? Let's first not get busted for losing in too many goals in Moskva, then maybe the team can do something, though I'm not going to that one game..It costs too much and I'd rather see Israel england match in the same price, in Ramat Gan with 40000 excited fans who want to qualify to euro in the first time :S _________________ ~GA

It was not a joke. Your English is good, don't worry!
Israel-England... I hope the English fans will behave themselves, but I am a bit sceptic about it. England's away games often attract trouble-seekers who never attend home games.
It would be nice though to see Israel and Croatia qualify ahead of England ; I like English football but I don't like their national team. That's integration in Ireland I guess, on this island 99% of the population hate the English football team. As my sympathies for Northern Ireland grew, so did my hatred for England's team Norn Iron-England 1-0, such great memories, what a memorable night 2 years ago! _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

Long time I didn't post here..
Maccabi Haifa's new game uniform:
I hope the red is going to be taken off
in other news, Yossi Benayon signed in Liverpool and Ben Haim signed in Chelsea, some nice summer for Israel
Maccabi got kicked out of Intertoto by Gloria and Beitar lost to a Scandinavian champion at home (again) and was knocked out..
thats it for now _________________ ~GA

But at least Maccabi TA proceeded versus Santa Colombo so they can keep the Israeli coefficient at least at the same height as it is now.
Good luck to Haifa in the new season! Do it like Rosenborg did: one season without a trophy, and then straight back to the top!
PS good luck to Israel in the qualifiers. I really hope you reach Euro 2008. I really don't like England team so it would be so cool if Israel could win at Wembley and kick England out of the Euro2008! (I did live in Ireland for a few years so then you just learn to hate the England team ) So beat those English!! El el Israel! _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

GA, do you know if the England vs Israel game is broadcasted live on the internet somewhere? I would love to see the game live, but I doubt if any Turkish TV station will show it. Do you know a site that will broadcast the game live?
I really hope Israel qualifies for the Euro 2008. If they kick England out meanwhile, it gets even better! _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

How does that site work? When clicking England-Israel you have the choice between Sopcast, PPmate and TVU. Which option do I need to click to watch the game? _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

A group of people have launched an internet campaign to bring the World Cup 2018 to Israel and Palestine. Neither the Israeli or Palestinian FA is involved, so far the commitee doing the campaign are a group of supporters only without any national FA involved. The Israeli and Palestinian FAs have so far not reacted to the campaign.
I wonder if this is intended a joke or not. I think it would be cool to have a World Cup in a country like Israel, many tourists would discover the many attractions and beauty of the country. However, have these fans thought about who is going to pay for the stadiums? Apart from Israel's Ramat Gan stadium, not a single stadium in Israel of Palestina has a capacity of over 20000 so there would need to be several new stadiums built or several stadiums expanded drastically. _________________ Rosenborg, forever pride of the North!

BBC has done a really interesting program on Israeli football, in their last "Crossing Continents".
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/h...363259.stm
An interesting take on Israeli football as well as history and politics. |

Don't worry Green Apes, I never thought they would resemble your average Israeli football fan by far. What did strike me though was the passion of average israeli fans (outside of "this team" featured in the BBC program), a passion which just shone through. Fans capable of that level of support also deserve a good quality level football. Do hope to see your national side making any of the play-offs in a few years time. What do you reckon Green Apes, could that be a possibility again ? You've been there before, so how would you rate your own chances of making it yet again ? |
