One czech newspaper said that Steffen Iversen could be transferred to Sparta Praha... But it is the AHA newspaper which is not too serious.

Yep, it seems like it was just a false romour. Iversen's agent denies the interest.

And I don't think Iversen is interested in a transfer to Sparta neither.

Hi, I'm a fan of KRC Genk.

Today almost every Belgian media announced that KRC Genk is negotiating with Rosenborg. The Belgian club is interested in Steffen Iversen because our first attacker, Bosnjak is out for the rest of the season and we need a replacement if we are to win the league.

The agreement would be that we rent this player for 6 months.

Can anyone confirm this 'rumour'?

Haven't heard anything on this. Seems a bit strange. Any statements on this from any of the two clubs?

It seems like Genk won't comment on this: Genk wil Iversen

Our headscout did not comment, but the spokesman of the club confirmed by saying; "There is contact".

I was hoping you guys heard something. Smile

Neither his agent nor director of sports in Rosenborg, Rune Bratseth, is answering on phone in the moment.

Quote:
"Er is iets van aan ja", bevestigt persverantwoordelijke Eric Gerits.

What does this exactly mean?

Babelfish says "there is something of to yes". But yes to what? Has Iversen said yes to Genk, or is it a yes on the reporter's question; "are Genk interesting in Iversen"?

That sentence can't directly be translated into english, it's typical dutch.

If I had to translate it; "There is something going on, yes. Confirmes the spokesman of the Club, Eric Gerits" Would be the near perfect translation.

(The website Sporza phoned Gerits to confirm if there is interest in Steffen Iversen. You know the answer now, there is. Smile)

Then we should believe what Sporza are writing. I'll try once more to get comments from Rosenborg/agent in a while.

Nevertheless I think it sounds a bit strange that Iversen is interesting in this. Not to be rude, but it can't be much other than money in it for him. Is it most likely a loan deal for six months?

Yes, it should be a loan deal (+- 6 months)

Since your competition is finished it is possible I believe.

Yep, it's not that unlikely that Rosenborg may agree on this, provided that Iversen will return in June/July in time for the Champions League qualifiers.

But then both Rosenborg and Iversen should get "plenty of Euros" in return. After selling Frode Johnsen and Thorstein Helstad, we just have to strikers left; Iversen and Yssouf Kone.

Director of sports, Rune Bratseth, denies the interest from Genk:

"This is just nonsense. I have not heard anything from Belgium or elsewhere."

Well, I sincerely hope it's not true. I know the Belgian league well enough, and without being rude, but it's not offering Steffen any extra value. All it would do is to get him to return to Rosenborg extra tired, while having earned some extra money. But it's not like the Belgian league is that high-quality that it's worth it I'd say. It's not like Larsson who actually gets some time in a top quality league. I hope Iversen stays at Lerkendal and will play the entire season with RBK as planned.

Iversen refused Genk's offer. He is going to extend his contract with Rosenborg by two years (clause), his agent claims.

Superb! Cool He is doing the right thing. Why leave your seat when it's a comfortable one? RBK

Now Genk has offered him a 2,5 year contract. Our head scout confirmed today that Iversen is the most important contact (out of 3). By the end of the week we'll know more but I hope he signs the contract.

I bet you hope he doesn't? Smile

Just to be curious, what are his strong / weak points?

But this is still not 100% sure?

We know he's offered this contract, but still we don't know whether he accepts it.

No, it is not sure. We expect more news tomorrow, or in this week.

But, how comes he can come for free?!
