I am very happy to see that Alexander Lund Hansen has been promoted the teams new starting goalkeeper. It was long overdue. What kind of year will he have for the team? |

I think it was more due to Hirschfeld being tired. Lund Hansen is not our new main goalie. |

Hirschfeld is a solid enough goalkeeper although he does take up a EEC place at RBK. Unfortunately, i have'nt really seen any Norge keepers that are top quality. I think Hakon Opdal is very average and he might be getting the jersey for the Landslaget!
Lund Hansen might be for the future. |

Hirschfeld also has a German passport. So he does not affect our quota. |

Yeah, most probaly will he do that. Lund Hansen will do fine then, I think, I'm more conserned about what to do if he sholud become injured in that timeperiod. _________________ Det er bedre å stupe ut i smørøyet enn å gå rundt grøten! |

Lars is also only the backup for the Gold Cup. He will go there and not play any games, but be on the bench behind Greg Sutton for every game. So I was wondering if that was part of the reason he has now been demoted to backup for Rosenburg too. To get used to that role. |

He's not demoted to backup in RBK. The only reason Lund Hansen played yesterday was so he could get some matchpractice before Hirschfeld go away... |

Well if Lars is still the starter here, is anyone frusterated that he would abandon his role as starter here for almost 3 weeks just to be a backup goalkeeper at the Gold Cup? |

Meh. We're going to win the league all the same. On the other hand, if it was during the CL qualifiers I'd probably be furious enough to go on a suicide bomb attack against Canada. But I doubt he'd leave if that were the case. |

I agree the team will win the league probably. Still the fact is they are a bit behind now. If he really is their starter, as you say he still is, it would seem important he not miss almost 3 weeks of 5-6 games. Especialy when he is going to the Gold Cup only to be a backup, not even a starter.
He wont play a single game at the Gold Cup unless the starter is pulled/
injured, and for that he is missing that much time while the team is a bit behind early in the season. |

RBK think Lars will reject a place in the Canada squad for the Gold Cup. Haven't had time to ask him myself. When is the squad announced? |

The squad is announced tommorow. As I said he was not even offered to be the starter, only the backup. |

Could Espen Johnsen not be recalled in an emergency?
Did RBK ever consider Thomas Mhyre?
Lars apparently got rejected by Dundee Utd here and now they don't have any goalkeeping options, guess they missed out. |

I still think Hirschfeld has lost his starting job to Alexander Lund Hansen. Even if I am wrong though if he goes to the Gold Cup just to be a backup goalkeeper he will certainlyl lose his starting job to Lund Hansen. The team would not be happy about Hirschfeld leaving them, if he really is still their starter, just to be a backup at a 3 week event. |

Alex is far behind Lars, and Rosenborg did want to sign another back-up for Lars this winter. |

Even if he is far behind him now, I dont predict that to be the case any longer if Lars goes to the Gold Cup just to be the backup for Canada. I dont think he should be doing that when the team is not having the best start to the season. He should only leave if he is going to atleast be starting. |

A week ago, Rosenborg director of sports Rune Bratseth thought Hirschfeld would reject a place in the Canada squad for the Gold Cup. Don't know whether he already has informed the Canada coach or he will wait until the squad is announced. |

"The situation demanded that I stay. We just have two keepers, and I have responsibility for not leaving Rosenborg in shortage of keepers. It would have been affecting the team too much in such an important period," Hirschfeld states.

It was a good decision. If Canada only wanted him to backup then they did not really want him at all. So he is best to stay here. Even being a backup here is better then being a backup for a weak Canadian team to a weaker goalkeeper. |

It is time to make Lund Hansen the starter. The team is going downhill with Lars in net. |

There is 10 players I would like to change in today's starting line-up before Lars. |
