We have lots of respect for benfica. We have a long history with your arch rivals, porto, and that battle has gone both ways, depending on the year.
now; Molde was not quite the opponents we are. They almost got relegated from the elite division this year, while we won it with 14 points.
(In 1998, we beat Real Madrid 2-0 in the champion's league. So welcome!) _________________ Svein Sjovold |

Also; it seems like portugese and norwegian teams are supposed to battle it out this year. Vieiria was beat by Molde, and then benfica beat molde, and then rbk will beat benfica (see a pattern?) _________________ Svein Sjovold |

No... it is dificult to understand that pattern...
The game in norway could be more dificult... but we will be very strong at home... where is the first game?
By the way, our home... i hope it will be a hell for you
(The pictures are big, it will ruin the layout... sorry... )

Hi Rosenborg supporters, nice year 97
I hope that lots of you come to Lisbon to watch the game, you'll enjoy the stadium, the city and the sun. Regarding the math, sorry, but you'll be desapointed, Benfica will win .
I hope you can tell me when does your national league start? _________________ SLBenfica 1904-2004 |

we beat red star belgrade. In belgrade. I doubt you can find a more hostile crowd in europe.
We also tied athletico bilbao. In spain.
We beat Milan. On San Siro.
We thrive when the atmosphere is tense.
the match in norway is march 5. It's cold. _________________ Svein Sjovold |

Also; I wish I could go. Portugal is a country I really want to go to. You have a good and exiting national team (but like spain, buckle under pressure). I also wish we could have made it to the european championship, but even norwegians agree that it's better to have spain there the way our national team plays thease days.
I predict a 1-1 draw in portugal and 1-0 at home. _________________ Svein Sjovold |

the national league starts sometime in the middle of april. The timing for us is poor; we've been on a winter break, and we have a new coach (however; he's been the assistant coach for 8 years now, so it won't matter) _________________ Svein Sjovold |

Red Star is a young team with a lack of routine., But their players are very good. Partizan Belgrade (was in champion's league) and red star are equally good teams in their league. Most norwgians would consider benfica the same quality. So we have a 50-50 shot at least (we had a 50-50 shot before red star belgrade also) _________________ Svein Sjovold |

how many of your guys will be coming to trondheim? Typically; we have a decent welcome to supporters from other countries (even the red star belgrade supporters behaved well!) _________________ Svein Sjovold |

I know of nuno gomes and zahovic. Very good players.
luckily, we have the best goalie in europe right now. (Did you see his save of raoul's lob in the game between norway and spain?)
Our team, with the exception of john carew (now striker in rome), has not had any star players for a long time. Basically because the team is so well organized (which is the only reason we are able to keep up with teams like red star and benfica, who undoubtedly has more individual talent on the roster) _________________ Svein Sjovold |

great save
Regarding portugues supports going there...they will be just a few, 100 or 200...
It's to far and to expensive for us
Portugal wasn't the first in the list of best countries to live... _________________ SLBenfica 1904-2004 |

I have fixed them (+ given name to some of the links above, instead of the URL).
I think Benfica was a great draw: I think we got the same chances as we had against Red Star to go through, but Benfica is historically a much bigger club. I think it will be really fun to see Rosenborg play against Eusébio's inheritors! |

btw, you mentioned carew...what do you think of him?
I watched him last year in Champions league while playing for Valencia, and I never understood how could a player like him play in your National Team _________________ SLBenfica 1904-2004 |

carew is good with the right support. He plays very well for rome right now. He played well for our team. But he had no support on our national team. He was not the right man for the lone striker role in our 4-5-1 formation
Now that we will play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, he will have some more support from tore andre (in siena) and a more playing midfield. I believe he will do very well. _________________ Svein Sjovold |
