even though you were not seeded and we were, the coach is trying to paint the match as you being the favorite (and honestly, you are) Also, the coach of Molde is giving us lots of information, and has told us that nuno gomes is exceptionally dangerous. We will not go onto the field overconfident.

We had a slump when qualifying for the champion's league (tied deportivo la coruna at home, lost 0-1 in spain), but if we would have been able to enter the league, I think we also would have done some damage.

Also: scoring chances are always counted differently by the opposing teams.

There will definitely be a clash of styles, and you may not like the way we play; it will be physical, and we will work hard at taking away your attack. But we don't need star players. Our two mid defenders, Erik Hoftun and Vidar Riseth have undressed star players time after time in their carreer.

We hope and believe in a win. But if we don't we'll probably route for you in the continuing cup, since you will have our karma.
Smile

Anyways, if you've got a huge injury problem this early in the season I doubt you'll have all your players ready for the matches in the UEFA cup.[/quote]

No way most of our players coming back.

Nuno Gomes, Luisao, Petit are coming back in this month.

Mantorras should be back in January so that's still a month away from the Uefa cup.

Fyssas is coming in January to improve the LB position which it was very weak for a while.

Joao Pereira has been on fire lately and same goes with Sokota and Tiago.

"Benfica 1 RBK 1
RBK 3 Benfica 0"

Wow that a big scoreline for u guys. U guys struggled against Red Star and didn't even score at home. If anything we are better then Red star.

Benfica 2 RBK 0
RBK 1 Benfica 1

this is my prediction.

Fellow RBK supporters no need to worry we are playing Benfica not Porto. Benfica will be more like Portugal's National Team! Expected to do well but like Portugal does all the time they FAIL! Rosenborg will win... maybe not in Lisbon but back in icy Trondheim, Benfica will fold and provide little fight

Benfica 1 RBK 1
RBK 3 Benfica 0

You have no idea what's coming for you.

I know what's coming for me my friend. I lived in Portugal for several years. I am half Portuguese. I know Benfica well and there style of play. The problem with Portuguese clubs and people is that they really think they are better than what they really are! Yet they have nothing to show for it. When I last looked Eusebio no longer played. Benfica was once great but no longer are. Remember we are not Molde!!!

We only think were better because we know we are lol.

But seriously 3-0.

there's no way we would put up a fight.

(we should be in the CL for we outplayed Lazio but with our injury crisis at that time pretty much affected the result) i just felt like saying that.

To be honest I wish we could be playing someone else. I do have a bit of a soft spot for Portuguese clubs and I don't like to see them go out of European competition so early but what can I do... next year we will be both in the CL... but in different groups of course!!!

I do expect two very good games.

Some of you Benfica fans have maybe discovered Rosenborg's bad away stats in the European cups:

After losing 11 away games in a row in the Champions League, Rosenborg last year broke that bad record, with a 1-1 draw in Amsterdam against Ajax. This year we have won away to Bohemians, Ventspils and Red Star. The win against the Serbs was impressive in my opinion: Red Star hadn't lost a single home game in the European cups for 8 years (playing clubs like Lazio etc.), but we managed to defeat them.

In other words: Rosenborg's bad away stats are hopefully just history.

How do u know if everbody will be back before this game? it's impossible to answer. That's like saying how do u know that some of your players are gonna be traded during the winter.

That's just what I meant to say. It's impossible to tell. But when that many players are injured now, it tells something. It tells that Benfica got many players who are very injury prone. Therefore its likely that u have many injuries.

What is your goalkeeper slips on the icey Norwegian ground and smacks his head off a curb sidelining him for the matches? What if your stadium collapses? What if... what if...

Dumbest things I've ever heard.

You were implying the same thing. How do you know (future), and what if are basically the same.
Also I wasen't referring to a Norwegian football pitch, I was referring to ice in general (roads, sidewalks.. I said curb Razz ).

RBKcanada:
I'm in Toronto, you?
I don't think RTP will show it, but it is possible. Haven't heard anything as of yet. Confused

Hi Calvermelho,

I'm in Vancouver. I am hoping that RTP does show it. When I lived in Winnipeg there was a Benfica club there that carried all of Benfica's matches. Hopefully TV2 will carry the match on the internet and we can watch it that way.

Lots of Canadians here then, eh? Laughing

Anyways there's many Benfica clubs (and supporters) around here, and I will watch the games one way or another. The worst case scenario is that I pay 20$ at the local Portuguese bar.
