Sweet result tonight, summed up the season. Molde start well, play some good offensive football but inevitably, we're too strong at the end. Credit to them though, they pushed RBK hard.
Great season for RBK, better than anyone expected I think. Kristiansund and Qarabag apart, everything has gone well. We have won our league back, but also, the team is as strong I think as the team of 3-4 years ago. Key signings surely in Lustig, Prica, Annan have made a difference.
Well done everyone! |

Probably the best RBK-team since 2003. But this years team has a lot of potensial, and it will probably get better if Erik Hamrén continues as head coach in the years to come. |

Sweet, sweet revenge for the Cupen quarterfinals debacle.
The win over Molde sets us up nicely for the rest of the way toward an undefeated 2009!
Go RBK!!!

Rosenborg took 13 league titles in a row between 1992 and 2004, and former coach Nils Arne Eggen says the current side has the ability to repeat that feat.
"The team went through a phase of rebuilding but now they are back to their best," he said.
"I can see this side having much success in the future."

Wow, that was the worst refereeing decision I've ever seen! Ovrebo has lost it surely?
I don't think that's actually technical in the rules what he did? Surely, he can book Prica but how can he give a penalty?
Hmm, pity. |

The Nordvik situatation in Molde - VIF was the same; fouls inside the box gives penalty kick. |

I thought that only counts if the fouling player was sent off, but apparently not. Stupid rule in my opinion (a bit biased to say this now, though). The situation has nothing to do with the game after all. What if this happend outside the field, behind the goal? |

Well, 1-1 tonight. Ok result, great goal from Prica!
(Forgetting the NM Cup on Saturday, the league is now over.)
Excellent to win the league this season after two years of hurt, this might be the start of another period of domination should we hang onto Hamren and important players.
Fair play to Molde, pushed RBK up until August or and have played some great football. Expect them to push us again next year with income from MB Diouf transfer. Stabaek and Odd were nowhere close and I don't expect them to challange us next year either. Brann, well, they will probably be better next year likewise Valerenga.
Lyn is relegated, not really surpising given their financial situation and poor support but they will be missed by VIF. Little bid sad for Glimt, after all, we did sign their best player. They will probably be back in two years though.
Haugesund is promoted and probably deserve this given their recent Cupen showings. (Ham Kam really did badly this season and kudos to Honefoss, they will be delighted to be in the Tippeligaen next year though will almost certainly be favorites to go back down again.)
What did everyone else this season enjoy? Despite our two little "mishaps" in the cups, it's been a good year. |

In real we were nine points ahead of Molde at the beginning of August. Can't really say they were pushing us at any time. Despite 7-2-0 for nine consecutive games they did not come closer to us during the summer. But they deserved the silver medal, as our lead was only increased by four points the last three months |

Molde's form overall was really good - ours was exceptional though and I don't think anyone would have predicted our outstanding home and away form this year. (It's fair to say that Molde's form and ability matched Stabaeks gull from the year before)
Hamren seems to have installed a winning mentality that in addition to winning at Lerkendal, carries over to away games. I guess with the news Hamren is leaving at the end of the next campaign, the aim will have to be defending the title/strengthining the team further to allow the transition for the new coach. |

UEFA has an excellent season review here, including RBK's league win, AAFK's shock cupen win and all the promotion/relegation action. (FFK going down is pretty hilarious!)
