hmmm... rosenborg has build their empire on limited resources in norway since 1990. Most of their achievements since then has been done with several of the same players as of today (Hoftun, Strand, Brattbakk, Basma, Stensaas, Winsnes, Berg...). Some of them are getting pretty old (Berg is 36 Shocked ), but their experience is unsurpassed in Europe except for maybe players in Real Madrid, Manchester United etc. These players have played in Champions League 8 years in a row, and won 12 consecutive league titles in Norway (which isn't as easy as it seems).

Rosenborg are in for a tough time when these players retire, but not yet...! I believe Benfica will be defeated on wednesday, and you will be surprised by the speed and organization of Rosenborg's attack. (Rosenborg is NOT a defensive team, they only have extremely good defense line: Basma, Riseth, Hoftun, Stensaas. These players are also important for rosenborg's attack... as you will witness on wednesday....).

But nothing is certain in football (which is why it's so fascinating Smile )... Benfica is a good team (fast players with good technique), and may very well send Rosenborg out of the UEFA cup if they manage to score a goal or two on Lerkendal Stadium.

One thing is certain though: Rosenborg don't play many matches in a row without scoring goals...! And they often score MANY goals... Benfica's defense better be prepared if you are going to stand a chance! Razz

Hmmm... nice reading.

"However, with Eusébio gone, Benfica found it hard to maintain their dominance."

That spells "has-been" to me Twisted Evil

Good luck to Benfica and its supporters the rest of the way you will need it! By the way don't forget to visit this forum in the Fall of 2004 when we will be playing in the Champions League and Benfica hopefully if they can hang on to 4th or 5th this season (Portuguese league) might be playing in the UEFA Cup.

Rosemborg would be an average team in our championship.

Average teams in our championship are more dangerous and cause us more problems in our home than you have caused. And play a more spectacular game. You played forward and espect defence to fail...
The game in norway wasn´t a ordinary game.

rekarde, I think you can understand that Rosenborg are off season now, or can't you? If you met us in September, i think we beat you in 2 games. 2-1 in Portugal, and 4-0 in Norway. If Rosenborg where playing in your championchip, i think we take on of top 3 places, and your actors at Benfica-team would end 4-6. Your team are not so good as you think, if they where they should have beat Rosenborg at Lerkendal, but for Rosenborg it was easyer to steel the ball from Benfica players than steeling candies for small kids.
Your players is a bunch of small boys, who think they are good players, they are only BAD ACTORS!!!
