Hello everybody

it's been a while, but I'm back on this message board for a little question Very Happy

In the Belgian news papers, it's written that my team KAA Gent is interested in a Norwegian coach. Does anyone know more about this? As you maybe recall, KAA Gent is the old team of Trond Sollied (now coach of FC Brugge).

Perhabs you can give me a small list of all the coaches in Norway who are 'free' in July?

Thank's in advance

Turbostef

Uh... that's a tough one. Free this summer - in the middle of the season...? Can't really think of many.

Two are free, but would probably not take the job: former national team coaches Egil "Drillo" Olsen and Nils Johan Semb. One more is semi-free; old RBK coach Nils Arne Eggen, but I don't think he'd move for such a job.

Others... hmm... Erik Brakstad isn't main coach in any top series club for the moment, had some success in Molde FK, but not that good in the later jobs in Bryne and Moss (though granted, the clubs weren't very good in the first place).

Ex-Vålerenga and Strømsgodset coach (ok I might have my facts wrong here) Vidar Davidsen currently works as expert commentator for broadcaster Canal+.

The Swede Benny Lennartsson had success in Viking Stavanger, and I think he's free, but he isn't Norwegian although he's been here for many years.
The Icelander Teitur Thordarsson has had mixed success; not too shabby in Brann Bergen at times, not at all good in FC Lyn Oslo. Served as coach in Norway for many many years, but again, not Norwegian.

Could of course be some low-profiled coach with little top league experience - or someone I haven't remembered - or just bullshit...

What does the name Kjetil Rekdal says to you? Ex-player of SK Lierse (belgian first league team)

My first thought: Destructive football.

He has now been player/coach for VÃ¥lerenga Oslo for three years, and his team usually shows destructive football. Often they have taken a 1-0 lead, before beginning to defend the lead. Time after time they have lost points on this; the opponent have taken over the posession and play and often scored.

Rekdal has earlier been wanted by his former club Hertha Berlin.

In other words: If you guys get Rekdal as new coach, it will not make any difference!? Cool

this season (32 games plays) we had 15 draws and we won only 7 games. The quality of the squad is everage, but the coach refuse to choose a good strategy and only picks his own "friends" in the team.

Now he'll normally be replaced by the end of the season, and we're looking forward for some great offensive football...
