2-1, slightly annoying late goal for FCK. I think at 2-0 we were all but through , Gronkjaer's goal makes things very nervous now.

We know that one away goal might be enough. Thoughts from those who were there? Can we do it in the return?

We know that under Eggen we always score, and that we havent lost in ever so long. Combined i think this makes it fairly likely that we can do enough to take it. Its being said (or excused) that this was FCKs weakest match this season, but if that was theirs or our fault, i dont know. Most of their chances were personal errors from us more than brilliant play from them.
This is, i feel, ours to lose. RBK to CL once more!

I think the chance is still 50/50 for advancement. Seems Annan will be suspended, a major loss for us. Still, I cant belive we will not score in Copenhagen. So, the question is if we can avoid 3 against.

I think it was a good result, despite the late goal given up.

FCK will be on their heels in the second leg, so we'll need to keep our composure and focus on the task at hand. Score one goal and keep it to a tie at worst.

Come on RBK, you can do this!!!

FC København welcome Rosenborg BK for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off round tie with each team seeking to return to the group stage after an absence of several years, although the home side have more work to do.

Come on Rosenborg, one more step! The Group Stage is so close! Very Happy I predicted 1-1 away but I'm starting to think Copenhagen will win and advance. Hope not though!

Dang, weak header gets by our keeper. Nobody covering the back post?

And now another FCK shot off the post!!! Keeper beat again if the ball was 2 inches to the right.

FCK ties aggregate 2-2 but LEADS the series on away goals.

RBK needs to score at least one now . . . maybe more if FCK keeps it up the pressure.

Holy cow!

FCK looks like Brazil and they could easily be up by 5 goals right now.

Someone use the Bat phone and call Eggen in the locker room . . . remind him to tell the boys this game counts.

Very Happy

45 minutes to get to the group stage.

Expect FCK to hold possession, we'll need to break through which may lead to an exposed backfield.

We can do this.

Nei!

Dissapointing, but you have to admit that Gronkjaer goal changed the entire tie. Sucks we won't be playing CL this year. Sad

We could have been playing:

Barcelona
Panathinaikos
FC Copenhagen
Rubin Kazan

Instead, we've got pretty some difficult ties anyway:

Atletico Madrid
Bayer Leverkusen
Rosenburg
Thessaloniki

But without the CL money. Sad

P.S - Athletic just won the Super Cup tonight in Monaco, they are clear favorites for our group already.

Luckily we get paid €2.1m for the play-offs and €900k for the Europa League from UEFA (source). In addition we earned aprox. €700k in ticket sales against FCK and perhaps the same for each of the group stage matches. The Scandinavian market pool from the Europa League is aprox. €350k.

A total of perhaps €6m is some money after all.

The 48 clubs embarking on UEFA Europa League group stage campaigns this week will receive increased prize money compared with the rewards on offer last season, when the rebranded competition began life as the successor to the UEFA Cup.

Each team taking part this term will collect a €640,000 participation bonus together with a match bonus of €60,000 for every match played in the group stage. They can add to this total minimum amount of €1m through a series of performance-related rewards, starting with €140,000 per win and €70,000 per draw in their group games.

(...)

A side could pick up, at best, €6.44m not counting the market pool share.

Aris have avoided defeat in their two European away fixtures so far this season. But they are still searching for a first group stage success on their travels – in their only previous group campaign, in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup, they recorded a draw and a 6-0 defeat on the road.

We should have enough to get past this team. After the Leverkusen result, we really need to win to have a chance to progress.

Noticed FCK won tonight 0-2 in Athens - Solbakken has them extremely well organized.

Anyone going to Madrid to support RBK? I am travelling there so I would like to meet other RBK supporters (maybe before the match) Smile

Should we rest players ahead of Thursday against Madrid?

Our Europa League campaign hasn't really gotten started, maybe the players are still thinking about Copenhagen.

At least the two most difficult games now are played. Four points against Atletico and Leverkusen, and we are back on track before the final match day.

Sums up our European campaign right? Sad

For the first time (and most likely last time) since Copenhagen, British TV showed an RBK game. I managed to catch the last 45 mins after work, what can you say?

Despite the keeper making a mistake, it was clear that we definetly shaded posession and created the better chances. Iversen missed an unbelievable opportunity from 10 yards out and up pops Tiago with a wonder goal. 1-2.

What a pity for Eggen and the others who're bound to leave the club soon. Hopefully next year we do much better in Europe.

I think this year is mostly about rebuilding our international experience, we got lots of players that have little to no experience playing in europe.

That said, it would have been deserved if we won this game. On Madrid's first goal they had two players offside and in the second half we owned them.

Indeed, it was great to see Rosenborg live on TV!
