RBK avoided both red cards and goals against before half time, but that did not help much.
NO MERCY: Miika Koppinen scored the winning goal.
It was especially the midfield that did not function. Marek Sapara worked well enought on the right side, but Alexander Tettey failed to do his part on the left, and was moved onto the center after half time.
"I'm no wing player, thats just the way it is. In the first half I was barely part of the game and was unable to do anything right from my position," Tettey told rosenborg.info
But in the second half the wise-captain and his colleagues were too stationary.
"We tried to adjust the midfield to no avail. We even tried to change to a 4-3-3 after a while," Trond Henriksen explained.
In the first 45 minutes the teams were equal and no great chances occured. Tromsø got some shots on goal, while a decent try from Vadim Demidov following a corner was the nearest RBK got to scoring.
The second half became more open with more chances for both teams. Marek Sapara had some good finishes, but as often before RBK did not take care of their goal scoring opportunities. Rosenborg could not send in rested offensive legs because both Yssouf Koné and John Pelu were suspended for red cards and Jo Sondre Aas was busy with the G-19.
Like before Miika Koppinen scored at Lerkendal, back for the first time since e refused to sign a new contract. He got rid of Demidov and elegantly headed the ball into the net. Tromsø got closer to getting 0-2 than RBK got to an equalizer, when Sigurd Rushfeldt sent the ball into the bar.
"The situation is awful, the game was equal, but yet again we lose at home. I'm disappointed," Henriksen concluded.
Before this game RBK had scored in 45 league games in a row. The only team with a better record is Rosenborg with 53 games.
