RBK did all they could to prepare for a gold celebration on Wednesday
DREAM GOAL: Mikael Lustig bicycled kicked Rosenborg into the lead after half an hour.
The trashing of Sandefjord was overshadowed by Molde's 0-1-loss: if RBK win against Tromsø in the postponed home game on Wednesday they'll win the league.
"I had a feeling we'd win and Molde would lose, so that we could celebrate on Wednesday. I was right," Erik Hamrén said beamingly.
Marek Sapara, who injured his knee at practice, was missing and it showed. Like in many previous home games RBK struggled with breaching the away team's defense.
1-0 came on a set piece. Trond Olsen sent a cross into Rade Prica's back and it fell down on Mikael Lustig's foot, who bicycle kicked the ball into the net.
"I was focusing on hitting the ball well. I'm not sure how it went in, but fudge; it doesen't matter," the satisfied wingback explained.
Seconds before the goal, the speaker at Lerkendal had announced that Tromsø had taken the lead at Alfheim, so there was twice as much celebration. The next roar came halfway into the second half- after Sandefjord's Martin Jensen had hit the bar with a long cross.
Then RBK woke up again and scored thrice. Per Ciljan Skjelbred snuck out on the left flank and served Rade Prica, who safely scored the second goal.
The opposing teams have scored four own goals against RBK this year, and Trond Olsen has been pivotal in all of the situations: today it was Alexander Gabrielsen who slid in a crossball from the left wing.
Olsen rejoiced again seconds later, when he, after wasting plenty of chances against Lyn and Stabæk, finally was able to score in a duel with Gabrielsen. It was his first goal since the Aalesund-game in June.
"It was wonderful to score again. I was unable to hold back the jubilant screams," Olsen admitted.
The table is set for league gold against Tromsø.
"That can become a great experience. The opportunity to win the league in front of your own supporters would be the highlight of my carreer thus far," Trond Olsen concluded.
